During this excursion we will visit the mountainous part of Georgia, in particular one of the most famous places – Gergeti Church, located at the foot of Mount Kazbeg. The road itself to this place will be very picturesque and exciting. On the way, we will stop at the famous Ananuri Castle, visit the Zhinvali Reservoir and the Peoples’ Friendship Arch. Next, we will drive to the village of Stepantsminda, where the main attraction is the Holy Trinity Church, built on top of the mountain, from where open unforgettable views of Mount Kazbeg. This church, and now the current monastery is covered in many legends and myths. One legend says that the church was erected on the site of an ancient pagan temple. Moreover, that supposedly, and now, priests hide a stone idol in the form of a ram. It is believed that this church was built as a repository of treasures of the Georgian Orthodox Church during the invasion of invaders of other faiths who desecrated Christian shrines. To visit this picturesque place, we will transfer to jeeps and climb to the top of the mountain where the temple is built. You can leisurely spend time on the spot to enjoy the beautiful views. If the weather allows, you can see the top of Mount Kazbeg. After inspiring mountain scenery, we will drive to the guest house, where we will be waited by a traditional Georgian table with a tasting of five types of wine and chacha.
